What Somewhereplace stores, and how to control it.

Your surprise draft

While you edit and preview, names, destination, dates, memory clue and note are saved in this browser’s local storage. Clicking Publish uploads that version to our Cloudflare database so it can be opened after payment. Reset your local draft using the homepage footer, or clear this site’s browser storage. Anyone using the same browser profile may see a saved draft or purchase link.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics (measurement ID G-NVT6ZS640G) loads on the production homepage only after you allow analytics. We send a generic homepage address without query parameters or a fragment. We do not intentionally send your draft content as analytics events. Google receives technical visit information and may set analytics cookies. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics settings in the homepage footer. Declining stops future loading; you can also clear existing cookies through your browser.

Hosting and contact

Cloudflare serves the website and may process network information, including your IP address and request details, to deliver and secure it. If you email us, your message and email address are used to reply. Do not include sensitive travel documents in a message or a surprise draft.

Payments and delivery

Polar processes checkout and payment information. We store your order ID, checkout ID, purchasing email, amount, currency, payment/refund state and surprise content in Cloudflare D1. We do not receive your full card details. Cloudflare Email Service delivers the invitation link to your checkout email address and retries failed delivery.

The link is a bearer credential: anyone who has it can view the surprise. Private management links are separate. Private pages do not load our Google Analytics integration, use no-store responses and are excluded from search indexing. Do not share management links or put sensitive documents in a surprise.

Retention and requests

Unpaid server drafts are removed after 30 days. Paid surprise content is kept to provide access while the service remains available. Purchase records may be retained as required for accounting, refunds and dispute handling. Contact us from your purchase email address to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information. Resetting a browser draft does not delete a published surprise.
